Coimbatore Multiplex BO Results (Oct 25 to Nov 3)

7aum Arivu did well during the first week but both Diwali movies showed declining occupancy level during the first week at Coimbatore Multiplexes. Since the distribution rights for 7aum Arivu in Coimbatore/Ooty/Pollachi areas were sold for 7 Crores (almost 1.5 times that of Velayudham), the distributors are expected to recover their steep investments by next week. Velayudham had better occupancy levels at B and C in that territory.

Chennai BO Collections

On a side note, a popular Tamil movie web site(Behindwoods) showed the total collections in Chennai city for the first 13 days to be higher for 7aum Arivu (4.56 Crores) than Velayudham (4.36 Crores). As per their BO weekly report, if we set aside the October 25th collections for 7aum Arivu, both movies have roughly grossed the same after 12 days at Chennai theatres. As expected, Velayudham is closer to profitability compared to 7aum Arivu at this point.
