The 21-day lockdown is bringing in unconfirmed reports regarding movie projects in Kollywood and buzz in the grapevine about Rajinikanth's Annaatthe is that the movie will now release for Diwali, 2020 i.e. November 13, 2020. Previously, the film was expected to hit theater screens during the pooja holidays in October but the outbreak of novel Coronavirus COVID-19 seems to have brought a change in the plans. 

Post the lockdown, Annaatthe directed by Siva and produced by Sun Pictures is expected to resume shooting at Hyderabad as already reported. Touted to be a story of the bond between an elder brother and his sisters, Annaatthe also stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushboo, Meena, Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, Vela Ramamoorthy and George Maryan among others.

The film has music by Imman, cinematograhy by Vetri and edits by Reuben.
