It has been a week since a freak crane accident left 3 dead and 9 injured on the sets of Shankar-Kamal Haasan's upcoming film Indian 2. In lieu of the same, director Shankar on Thursday [February 27, 2020] appeared before the Central Crime Branch to be questioned by CCB officer G Nagajothi and have his statement recorded. The officers are due to call Kamal Haasan in next.

In a media statement since then, director Shankar has announced Rs. 1 Cr. financial aid to the surviving families of assistant director Krishna, art assistant Chandran and poduction assistant Madhu whose lives were tagically taken in the incident. It is worth mentioning here that previously actor Kamal Haasan and Lyca Productions had announced financial aid of Rs. 1 Cr. and Rs. 2 Cr. respectively to the families of the deceased.
