Arun Vijay, Prasanna, Priya Bhavani Shankar starrer Mafia directed by 'D16' fame Karthik Naren hit the screens worldwide on February 21. The film registered a very good opening in TamilNadu by minting Rs. 7.2 cr in the first 3 days. The action thriller which opened to mixed reviews from critics and audience managed to set the cash registers ringing as it carried a good pre-release hype.  

The film has failed to sustain the momentum at the Box Office from Monday (Day 4) as the collections have witnessed a sharp decline due to average word-of-mouth despite getting a good start. With a below average performance, the collections seem to dip further with each passing day. Mafia has grossed around Rs. 8.2 cr in 5 days and needs to collect Rs. 12 cr to achieve break-even mark. In Chennai city, it has raked in Rs. 1.48 cr in 5 days. The second weekend collection of the film is very pivotal to determine the film's fate at the ticket windows. 

Mafia produced by Lyca Productions has music by Jakes Bejoy, while cinematography and editing is handled by Gokul Benoy and Sreejith Sarang respectively.
