Punnagai Mannan Controversy: Rekha's Disinterested in Apology, Netizens Think Kamal Haasan Should Regardless!

Tamil actress Rekha recently sent shock-waves among the 'woke' Tamil netizens, when she revealed that the famous 'kiss' scene in 1986 Tamil movie Punnagai Mannan was filmed without her consent. Apparently the actress has revealed this several times in the past [which obviously was turned a deaf-ear to in the non #Metoo times] and the actress even admitted that both her co-star Kamal Haasan and her now no-more director K. Balachander were upset by the same.

In her account of the incident, Rekha re-collects that before the scene she was never informed that Kamal would be kissing her on the lips and right before the take she could hear K. Balachander asking Haasan if he remembered what the director told him. She also says that post the scene, she complained to the director that her father would never accept her filming such a scene and to her mother that 'they tricked her' into filming the scene.

Though Rekha has also added that she isn't interested in getting an apology from Haasan, she agrees that had she been asked prior permission, she would have never consented to the scene. Naturally, the netizens had a lot to say about this resurfaced revealition and here are some of their thoughts:
