Below, we’ve rounded up [not ranked] some Best Tamil Movie Posters of 2019 and how they brought in the 'zing' to the promotion of their stories.

NGK (Designer: Kabilan)

Based on a very memorable image of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara, this poster for the film’s first look reflects the idea of Suriya turning into a symbol of over-throwing power after getting radicalized by existential crisis and power-abuse.

Super Deluxe (Designer: Gopi Prasanna)

The synchronicity of Super Deluxe's events is captured in this poster and interestingly it turned out to be an exact representation of all things that appear in the film. There’s a sense of striking appeal to the embossed nature of the poster.

Game Over (Designer: Gopi Prasanna)

There couldn't be a better poster concept for Game Over than this. It portrays the central idea of the movie - that someone is trying to break-free from the clutches of the 'game' they are stuck in; The danger motif and the three hearts are added clues to the story.

Aadai (Designer: Amudhan Priyan)

This poster campaign for this movie effectively conveyed the elements of the story such as a disrobed girl, her character having a 'wild and bold' side, and the inadvertent blood on her hands, both literal and figure.

Petta (Designer: Tuney Jhon)

Petta being a star-driven vehicle was expected to highlight the lead; but in addition to having such posters, the movie also had posters where even the simplest of abstract from was represented tastefully. The interaction-quotient of these posters were so high that a commercial film like Petta, was pegged at the level of a horror story [in the guessing games that surrounding the plot].

Gundu (Designer: Kabilan)

A lorry driver naively looking up at a rain of missiles which are blowing up next to him couldn't have represented Irandam Ulaporin Kadaisi Gundu any better. In addition to bringing a lot of intrigue, the poster kept people guessing about the connection between 'World War 2' and a lorry driver.

Also, the poster campaign for this film was far from usual. Images of an actual war, missiles dumped under-water, the backside of a lorry and scrap-yards all made it to the posters of this film.

Special Mention - Monster (Designer: Amudhan Priyan)

Be it the dread of being terrorized a rat or the anticipation of it taking the bait, the essence of SJ Surya's predicament and the importance of the animal in Monster, was captured clearly in the posters of the movie.
