Actor-director R. Parthiban has responded to the controversy surrounding his remarks about Trisha Krishnan, stating that the claims against him are “100 percent lies.”
The issue began after Parthiban made a wordplay comment referencing Trisha’s Ponniyin Selvan character Kundhavai, suggesting she should “stay at home to avoid problems.” Following backlash, the actor had earlier issued an apology, calling the remark unintentional.
However, after Trisha indirectly criticised his comment on social media, Parthiban released a new video explaining his stance. He said Trisha’s photo appeared unexpectedly during the event and he did not know what to say at that moment, adding that the narrative portraying him as targeting her was false.
Parthiban also claimed that the controversy escalated after Trisha attended a wedding reception with Vijay, which he felt had triggered wider discussions online. He reiterated that he had no intention of insulting her, and that his earlier apology was meant to clarify the misunderstanding.
