Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram made his acting debut with Adithya Varma, the official Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster film, Arjun Reddy. The film which hit the screens on November 22 received mixed reviews. Though Dhruv Vikram's performance has been praised by many, the film still failed to create a mark at the Box Office.
E4 Entertainment which bankrolled the project has suffered losses due to the film's underwhelming performance at the ticket windows. Reportedly the makers have decided to release director Bala's version of the film titled 'Varmaa' on Netflix to recover a part of the losses. According to reports, the makers are in talks with Netflix to release the film on the OTT platform. However an official announcement is awaited soon.
Director Bala was initially assigned to work on the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy which was titled 'Varmaa' by E4 Entertainment. Later upon the film's completion, the production house rejected the product delivered by Bala due to various creative and other differences and the film was scrapped completely. Later Adithya Varma, a new version was made with debut director Gireesaaya retaining Dhruv Vikram and music composer Radhan.
