MGR Magan starring Sasikumar in the lead role is directed by Ponram of 'Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam' and 'Rajinimurugan' fame. The film went on floors in September at Theni. The film is on the verge of completion with 95% of the film's shoot wrapped. Screen Scene Media Entertainment which is bankrolling the movie shared an update of the film's progress on their social media handle.

Super Deluxe-fame Mrinalini Ravi is playing the female lead. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Samuthirakani and Singam Puli. Popular singer Anthony Dasan is making his debut as music director with this film.The technical crew includes Vinoth Rathinasamy for cinematography and Vivek Harshan for editing.
