Bigil and Kaithi which were dubbed and released in Telugu states as 'Whistle' and 'Kaidhi' respectively has performed well in its opening weekend. Bigil has minted Rs. 10.8 cr earning a share of Rs. 6.5 cr. Vijay has registered his career's biggest opening with "Bigil" in AP / TG. The film's theatrical rights were sold for Rs. 10 cr and the film is expected to achieve break-even by the end of its first week.

Karthi enjoys a big fan base in Telugu states. His latest release Kaithi / Kaidhi has picked up momentum at the ticket window due to strong word-of-mouth. The film which had a slow start on Day 1 has witnessed substantial growth on Day 2 and Day 3. Karthi's film raked in Rs. 4.4 cr in 3 days with an estimated share of Rs.1.76 cr. The film's theatrical rights have been sold for Rs. 3.5 cr and the film is expected to become a profitable venture by the end of its theatrical run.
