Actress Trisha who was last seen as Saro in Rajinikanth's Petta is most likely to reunite with director Mani Ratnam after 15 years. Earlier this month there was a strong buzz that Trisha has been approached for an important role in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, which is an upcoming two-part magnum opus. 

Though there have been no confirmations since, latest word in the grapevine is that the actress might have been brought on board. Trisha had earlier worked with the director in 2004's multi-starrer Aayutha Ezhuthu and whether or not she will be playing one of his heroines yet again is something only time can tell.

Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayaram and Parthiban have so far confirmed to be a part of Ponniyinn  Selvan, which is an adaption the Tamil novel of the same name. The film has A.R. Rahman for music and will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
