Jayaram to finally work with Mani Ratnam in Ponniyin Selvan?

 

A few years ago Malayalam actor Jayaram who is also a familiar face in Tamil, shocked everyone by revealing that role of 'Arjun', Rajinikanth's half-brother in Mani Ratnam's cult film Thalapathi was initially offered to him at the suggestion of Mammootty. However due to scheduling conflicts, Jayaram couldn't take up the offer and Kollywood received an actor named Aravind Swami as a result.
 
Now, after almost 3 decades Jayaram might finally be working in a Mani Ratnam movie for reports of the actor being approached for Ponniyin Selvan has surfaced. While there is no official confirmation, it is likely that Jayaram might join the cast which already includes names like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, Amala Paul among others.

Ponniyin Selvan is expected to be bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment in association with Madras Talkies and Mani Ratnam's regular A.R. Rahman is expected to handle the music. The film is most likely to go on floors by the end of this year.
