Recent addition to director Mani Ratnam's upcoming magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan is actor R. Prathiban who recently took to his micro-blogging page to announce the same. The actor also revealed that he is learning swimming for the film, in which he will be featuring with names like Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among others. 

An adaptation of Kalki Krishnamoorthy's classic Tamil novel of the same name, Ponniyin Selvan is all set to begin shooting from early 2020 and will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Actor Elango Kumaravel is said to have penned the screenplay for this film which is also expected to have A.R. Rahman for music.
