Gaja Cyclone Relief gets support from Rajini, Kamal, Suriya, Vijay & other Tamil Film Celebrities!

 

The damage caused by cyclone 'Gaja', which had crossed Tamil Nadu coast last Friday totals upto 45 lives, 1.7 lakh trees, 56,942 thatched houses, 30,828 houses with roof tiles and 88,102 hectares of agricultural land.

Added to this the cyclone which had its most impact on Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Thanjavur, Pudukottai and Tiruvarur in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in neighbouring Puducherry also left a lot of partial destructions. 

As a part of the rescue operations, Tamil Film celebrities are voicing their support for the 'Save Delta' campaign on twitter. Added to this some of them like Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan have donated huge sums of Rs. 50 lakh, Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh respectively.
Actor Vijay Vasanth along with his father and brother donated Rs. 25 lakh to Tamil Nadu Chief Ministers' Fund while director Shankar and Lyca Productions have donated Rs. 10 Lakh and Rs. 1.01 crore respectively to the same fund.

 
Actors Rajinikanth (Rs. 50 lakh), Vijay (Rs. 40 lakh) and Kamal Haasan extended help through their respective associations Rajini Makkal Mandram, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam and Makkal Needhi Mayam.

Acotr composer G.V. Prakash tied up with Suryan FM to drop off relief materials while fan-clubs of Ajith, Vijay and Rajini were seen stepping forward to do good deed in the name of their favourite stars.
