Thalapathy 63: Vijay to play CBI officer, A.R. Rahman, Samantha front-runners?

 

Vijay's latest release Sarkar is still running in movie theaters and at this time, updates about his upcoming project (Vijay 63) have been doing the rounds in the media. Vijay 63 is said to be a thriller film to be made on the lines of Imaikka Nodigal and Ratsasan and the lead actor is expected to be playing a CBI officer in this. 

Vijay was recently spotted sporting a twirled moustache at Sarkar success party and even then speculations were rife that Atlee (director of Vijay 63) was bringing back Vetrimaaran's (character Vijay played) look from Mersal. Added to this, it is being suggested that Atlee might even take one's of Mersal's famous songs 'Aalaporan Tamizhan' for his upcoming film's title. 

About the cast and crew, buzz is that A.R. Rahman is the front-runner for this project while G.K. Vishnu is said to be taking care of cinematography for this film. Actresses Samantha and Nayanthara are supposedly in talks for playing female leads, while rumour has it that Anurag Kashyap has been approached to play the antagonist.

While there is no official announcement on any of these developments, it looks like Atlee has tried to retain his team members from Mersal for this upcoming production venture of AGS Entertainment. The film is planning to hit theater screens for Diwali 2019.
