Sarkar beats Sanju to become India's biggest opener of 2018

Vijay's 'Sarkar' has registered a massive opening at the Box Office on its first day. The film has raked in Rs. 45+ cr at the Domestic Box Office and Rs. 69+ cr worldwide on its opening day. Breaking the record held by Ranbir Kapoor's  film Sanju, Sarkar has become the biggest opener of 2018 so far in India. Sanju had grossed Rs. 43.5 cr (domestic) and Rs. 63.5 cr (worldwide) on its opening day.

Sarkar hits a new All-Time Record in TN & Kerala


Vijay's film has raked in Rs. 29 cr in Tamil Nadu on its opening day which is the highest ever for a Tamil film. The film has created new records in all the territories in TN except Salem. 

 

Thalapathy Vijay has a huge fan following in the neighbouring state Kerala and his recently released Sarkar has set an all-time new record by grossing Rs. 6.6 cr on (with a nett share Rs. 3.15 cr) its opening day which is the highest ever for any language film in Kerala. Previously Baahubali 2 which grossed Rs. 5.5 cr on its opening day held the highest opening day record. The film released in 408 screens which is the biggest ever release for any movie in Kerala.  

 

In Karnataka, the film marks Vijay's career best opening in the state. Sarkar has done fabulous business in the overseas market as well. The film has grossed Rs. 100 cr in just 2 days and is expected to break many records in the coming days.
