Madhavan plays the role of a rocket scientist in a biopic based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. National Award-winning filmmaker Ananth Mahadevan is directing this film in Tamil, English and Hindi. Madhavan has announced on his Instagram page that the film has been titled 'Rocketry - The Nambi Effect' and the teaser will be launched on 31st October 2018 at 11.33 am.

Madhavan will be seen playing the protagonist in different stages of his life, from the age of 27 to 75. He is expected to sport three different looks in the film. Nambi Narayanan who was wrongfully arrested in 1994 for espionage has since legally fought to prove his innocence. Nambi Narayanan's fight of 24 years came to an end this year with the Supreme Court granting a monetary compensation of Rs. 50 lakh to the former ISRO scientist and ordered a probe to look into the involvement of the Kerala Police who had arrested him.
