Three notable films Vijay Sethupathi starrer 96 (Oct 4), Vijay Devarakonda's NOTA and Vishnu Vishal's Ratchasan hit the screens this week. Both 96 and Ratchasan have fetched rave reviews while NOTA opened to mixed response from both the audience and critics alike. Despite 3 new releases, Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is having a strong run in its second week has contributed over 50% of the Total Box Office revenue in TN.  

Ratsasan starring Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul is a psychological thriller directed by Mundasupatti fame Ramkumar. The film has minted Rs. 43 lakhs in its opening weekend in Chennai city alone. Due to strong positive word-of-mouth, the screen count / shows has been been increased in theatres based on audience demand. The film is in the fourth position at the Chennai Box Office this week with Vijay Sethupathi starrer 96 leading at the top. 

Ratchasan which had a limited release in USA (11 locations) has grosses $11360 (Rs. 8.4 lakhs). In UAE - GCC the film has grossed Rs. 42.87 lakhs in its opening weekend.

NOTA directed by Anand Shankar of 'Irumugan' fame marks Arjun Reddy actor Vijay Devarakonda's Tamil debut film. The bilingual film which received mixed response is performing well in Telugu compared to Tamil. However due to pre-release buzz, it has got a good opening at the Box Office. The film grossed Rs. 14 crore worldwide on its opening day with a net share of Rs. 7.3 cr. 

NOTA grossed Rs. 69 lakhs from Chennai City in its opening weekend. We need to wait and see the film's performance during the week days as it has received mixed response.
