Releasing films on Festival days and holidays will ensure maximum footfall and also helps to boost the box office revenue to a great extent. After Pongal, Vinayagar Chathurthi and Diwali, Christmas is the next big ticket window targeted by makers for releasing films. This year for the Christmas weekend (December 21, 2018), as much as 4 films are lined up for release on the same day. However, we wait for an official confirmation from the respective makers. 

1. Kanchana 3

Kanchana 3 is the fourth installment in the Muni series and third installment in Kanchana series. The film is directed by Raghava Lawrence, starring himself, Oviya and Vedhika in the leading roles. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film has music by Thaman.

2. Dev

Dev directed by debutant Rajat Ravishankar is a romantic entertainer starring Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. The film is produced by Prince Pictures and has music by Harris Jayaraj . The film also stars Ramya Krishnan, Amrudha, Vignesh, Vamsi, Ravi and veteran actor Karthik in important roles.

3. Dhruva Natchathiram

Dhruva Natchathiram is a spy thriller film directed by Gautham Menon starring Vikram, Simran, R. Parthiepan, Aishwarya Rajesh and Ritu Varma in lead roles. It is produced by Ondraga Entertainment, Escape Artists Motion Pictures and Kondaduvom Entertainment and has music by Harris Jayaraj.

4. Maari 2

Maari 2 is a gangster action comedy film directed by Balaji Mohan. It is a sequel to his 2015 film Maari. The film stars Dhanush, Sai Pallavi, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles. The film is produced by Wunderbar Films and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
