S.S. Rajamouli's Baahubali franchise is turning into an online series through Netflix and an official announcement regarding the same was made by the streaming company recently. The series has been titled Baahubali: Before the Beginning (after the trilogy novel of the same name) and the has been ordered for two seasons for now. The first season will have nine episodes and will be based on the book titled The Rise of Sivagami, which is the first book of the trilogy novel. The series Baahubali: Before the Beginning will be co-produced by S.S. Rajamouli and Arka Media Works.
A trailer for this online show was released too, while an official statement from Netflix read, "This (prequel) series captures Queen Sivagami’s journey from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise and unequalled queen. Power, politics and intrigue find themselves juxtaposed against the rise of Mahishmati - from being a city-state to an empire. This is the rich backdrop and drama where the Baahubali franchise is set. The series promises to build on the incredible narrative style of the franchise - including its high production values, spectacular visuals and connective-epic story-telling."
It is worth mentioning here that this is not the first time, Netlfix is associating with the Baahubali brand. Earlier, they had bought the streaming rights of the movie for a record price in Indian history. Keep watching this space for more updates on the show.
