'Indian 2' is one of the most awaited films in Kollywood ever since its announcement last year. Kamal Haasan and director Shankar are reuniting after 22 years for the sequel of Indian, which released in 1996 and became one of the biggest blockbusters in Tamil. 

The latest buzz is Anirudh will be scoring the music for Indian 2. According to a report in a leading daily newspaper, the makers have finalised Anirudh for the film's music while Thamarai will be penning the lyrics. However an official confirmation is awaited from the makers.

Anirudh who is currently busy with the music score of Nayanthara starrer Kolamaavu Kokila, will be scoring the music for Superstar Rajinikanth's next film to be directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Anirudh is indeed lucky to be scoring music for both the stalwarts of Tamil Cinema, Rajnikanth as well as Kamal Haasan in a row. 

Lyricist Thamarai will be penning the songs. Thamarai has earlier worked with Anirudh for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Lyricist Thamarai is well known for her music collaborations with composer Harris Jayaraj and director Gautham Menon. 

Shankar is currently busy with the VFX work of Superstar Rajnikanth's 2.0. According to reports, the pre-production work of Indian 2 is also currently underway. The film will be produced by Lyca Productions.
