Will 7A & Vela break Box Office records set by Mankatha, Dasa, Sivaji and Enthiran? (Part 3 of 3)
7am Arivu and Velayutham fever has gripped Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Rest of India, Ra.One is the most expected movie of all time. This is a Diwali that Indian movie Industry will remember for years to come due to a number of high profile movies all releasing on the same day. Let's look at what the buzz activities tell us about the movies releasing this Diwali,
- Ra.One is expected to break prior Box Office openings irrespective of the outcome. The ticket prices for opening week at multiplexes and theatres in major metros have been set at Rs.400+ a piece. Ra.One 3D prints have been delayed by a couple of days may create a minor dent in the overall collection.
- 7am Arivu is a movie made at half the Enthiran cost. But, creating the buzz comparable to 3/4th of Enthiran's hype so far. If the movie gets a solid positive word of mouth, it is sure to break into the exclusive Rs.100 Crore club occupied by Dasavatharam, Sivaji and Enthiran. Given the wide release strategy with 1200+ prints, we believe breaking 100 Crore mark is very much a possibility.
- Velayutham showed a sharp spike after the reservations opened with many online sites crashing a few minutes after the bookings started. Such is the 'mass'ive power of Vijay. Since many of Vijay's staunch supporters may not have access to internet, social media, smart phones and other digital channels, the buzz activity in the chart doesn't fully reflect the immense grass root level support that Vijay commands in the interior parts of the state as well as major cities.
If all 3 movies succeed at the Box Office, expect some serious fireworks all over the country... Stay tuned!
