One of the demands of TFPC Strike addressed, says actor Vishal

With around 37 films censored and around 20 more sent for censor, pressure to let go of the stalemate in Tamil Film industry looms quite heavily. However, the Tamil Film Producers' Council seems determined to have their demands implemented and looks like they've had some luck with one of it too. TFPC President Vishal, today announced that the Information and Publicity Minister Kadambur Raja has promised to fulfill one of TFPC's demands which was to form a separate board for the Film Industry so the the government could show some intervention and solve the ongoing issues in the industry.

This development comes after Vishal on Friday announced that there would a united march to Fort St. George in the first week of April to meet the Tamil Nadu chief minister Edapadi K Palaniswamy and Kadambur Raju with their demands. On Friday, Vishal had also said that the strike will continue until all their demands like computerisation of movie tickets, reduction of online charges, classification of movie tickets, abolition of theatre syndicates and VPF are met. Actor Karthi from SIAA,FEFSI head Selvamani and PC Sreeram from the cinematographers’ union were in solidarity with the TFPC for all of this.
