After Lyca Productions refuted rumours over the release date of Rajinikanth starrer Kaala getting pushed, the film is in the news now for its censorship obstacles. Apparently, if Wunderbar Films produced Kaala has to release on the announced date of April 27, 2018 then the makers would have to had to obtain a No-objection certificate (NOC) from the Producers' council for sending it for censorship. However, owing to the ongoing TFPC Strike, NOCs were not issued since March 16, 2018 and the makers of Kaala have now moved the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) for the same.
On the other hand, Hollywood film Avengers Infinity War (also releasing on April 27) had a trailer release recently in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The South Indian versions of the trailer seemed to have gained considerable attention from the viewers, adding salt to the looming tension over the release of the Pa. Ranjith directorial.
