The ARRI Group is the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of motion picture cameras has introduced a new digital camera in Large Format (LF) camera system. Known as the Alexa LF, the camera comes with 16 large-format ARRI Signature Prime lenses, ranging from 12 mm to 280 mm and fitted with the new ARRI LPL mount.

After being unveiled at the 2018 BSC Expo in London, the camera is being demonstrated to leading Indian cinematographers at Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai. Yesterday in Chennai at Prasad Labs, noted cinematographers like Nirav Shah, Rathnavelu, Gavemic U Ary, Sukumar, Manoj Paramahamsa to name a few, attended the demo session and checked out the working specifications of this new camera.

The Signature Primes are said to exemplify optical precision while rendering organic, emotional images, gently softening and texturing the large format. A fast T-stop of T1.8 is said to facilitate shallow depth of field and the smooth focus fall-off gives subjects heightened presence in the frame.

It is worth mentioning here that the camera has also been tried by Internationally famed cameramen like Oscar Nominee Dan Laustsen, Wang Yu, Tom Fährmann BVK, Matias Boucard among others. It is priced at £ 74, 000.
