After Producers Council, Theatre Owners to go on indefinite strike!

The Vishal-led Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) have been on a strike with no new film releases since the 1st of March this year. They have gone on strike against Digital Service Providers like UFO and QUBE despite their Telugu counterparts, also known as the TFPC withdrawing strike after reaching a resolution. Due to this stand-out films were being re-released for the theatre audience but according to recent developments, even that seems to be coming to an end!

The Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association, which has already been severely affected due to this strike is planning on a strike of its own starting March 16, 2018. The association is going on an indefinite strike against the Tamil Nadu State Government and has demanded that the local body tax, also known as the Entertainment tax be completely abolished. It has also demanded  an increase in Theatre Maintenance Charge through the ticket prices and flexibility in approval norms for license and seat numbers in new theatres.
