A day before film Padmaavat's release, as many as 6 states including Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharastra saw anti-Padmaavat protesters take extreme measures for banning the film. In Haryana, a school bus was attacked and a state transport bus was torched! In Indore, a National highway was blocked by 200 stone-pelting protestors whereas 50 Karni Sena activists burnt an effigy of the film's director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Since these reports of chaos only adds to the vandalism and arson attacks at Ahmedabad last evening (50 suspects have been arrested today in connection with the incident), a furious Arvind Swamy decided to tweet out in support of the film. Blaming the centre for a failed administration, he demanded the people's security should be taken care of. He wrote :
If there is a law and order breakdown, bring in President’s rule. Either you are capable of providing security to the citizens and their property or you are not. There is no excuse, nothing to blame except your administrative failure #Padmavat i
