Madhan Karky's DooPaaDoo: The next step of Tamil Music Industry

Earlier today, we brought to you the news of actor Lawrence resorting to DooPaaDoo a musical platform instead of signing music composers for his upcoming film. When we dug in a little, we found that Lawrence's procurement of songs was done through a facility called Music for Movies provided by DooPaaDoo. Some of the features of this facility are listed below :

  • Music for Movies lets directors and producers select pre-composed songs from over a bank of 1000 and counting. The songs are classified according to their genres and styles.

  • Filmmakers can either "place" the selected songs in their movies, which are less in cost but aren't exclusive to their film or "buy" them.

  • Customisation is available under a program called Made to Order where songs are composed according to the narration of the film's story. Else they can pick pre-composed songs from Fast Food.

  • Songs take 1 to 7 days for completion and cost between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 20 lakh and come across as huge enablers of small and medium budget films.

  • They are also enablers of upcoming musicians as there is no fee or charge for associating with DooPaaDoo and they get credited for their work. The revenue generated from a song is divided among the composer, lyricist and others who have worked on the song.

Such unique availabilities are never-before-seen or utilised one and are said to reduce the communication lags between the makers and musicians. Those who run the program plan to expand the facilities to other languages in case of its popularity with Tamil languages.
