Shruthi Haasan gets dropped from Sangamithra
After making a much publicized launch at the Cannes Film Festival a few days back, team Sangamithra has come up with a totally unexpected development. The titular role which was supposed to be donned by Shruthi Haasan (who even made quite an impact with her appearance at the French International Film Festival and the movie posters) will unfortunately see a replacement. The announcement was made by producers of the film Sri Thenandal Films on their twitter page minutes ago.
Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to proceed working with Shruti Haasan in Sangamithra.

On her side, Shruthi Haasan opted for her spokesperson Yuvaraj to deliver her statement regarding this development. The statement read :
"Shruti has had to unfortunately take a call not to be part of Sangamithra. Knowing it was a massive undertaking and a long commitment spanning over 2 years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar. She hired and started training with one of best combat trainers April onwards to make sure she was ready in time for shoot. Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to Sangamithra, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script or nor a proper date calendar. She is currently caught up with promoting her film Behen Hogi Teri, prep for Sabash Naidu and her musical associations"
Written and directed by Sundar. C, Sangamithra is touted to be one of the most expensive movies in the making and is expected to be a historic war drama. The movie also starrs Jayam Ravi and Arya in the lead.
