Setbacks for Maatraan with 3 more days to go

With only 3 more days to go, Maattrraan is facing setbacks prior to release.

Simmering Karnataka Cauvery issues has raised some concerns and questions on whether Maattrraan will release in Bangalore, Mysore and other areas in Karnataka where Suriya commands huge fan following. In fact, Karnataka was one of the very few centres where 7aum Arivu was termed a Super Hit last year. Suriya's record breaking collections had given confidence to distributor Srikanth from Mandya who paid 4 Crores for Maattrraan. Due to tense situation prevailing in Bangalore, fans are unsure about the movie releasing on time. This has put some pressure on the big investment made by the Karnataka distributor.

As of today, the sound studio reported that DTS sound mixing for Maattrraan is still in progress due to delays encountered during background re-recording. For overseas locations, the physical prints may not arrive until Friday creating some challenges for preview shows happening on Thursday.

Thirdly, audio and teaser releases of Thuppaki and Poda Podi have been lined up a day before the release date. Insiders claim that the release date was selected to counter the tremendous hype and buzz surrounding Suriya's Maattrraan.

Maattrraan's word of mouth will determine whether it can turn around like "Pac Man" and gobble up all these challenges.
