Irudhi Suttru Enters Tokyo International Film Festival


Producer S. Shashikanth took to his twitter page today to announce that the Madhavan-Ritika Singh starrer Irudhi Suttru has been selected for a premier screening at the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF). This action drama which is a Sudha Kongara directorial, will be screened on the 31st of October in Tokyo. Every year, 16 movies are selected from all over the world for a special screening and 6 movies get to participate in the competitive section. 

 

The Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix which is the highest award handed at the festival, is given to the best film selected every year. Apart from these, awards are given under various categories. Actress Shefali Shah happens to be the only Indian till date to win an award at the festival since its inception. She was awarded for her outstanding performance in Gandhi, My Father in the year 2007. Lipstick under my Burkha is the other Indian entry to be screened at the festival this year.
