MovieCrow Box Office Report - July 24 to 26

Arulnithi's Naalu Policeum Nalla Irundha Oorum took a humble opening, as biggies were still ruling the box office last weekend. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Baahubali

SS Rajamouli's Baahubali, which has already been declared as a blockbuster, was running to packed houses across all centres. The movie came back strong and replaced Maari at the first spot. Not to forget, this visual extravaganza has also been attracting repeat audience, which has become a rare phenomenon these days.

2. Maari

In spite of mixed reviews, Dhanush's Maari managed to retain all the screens in its second weekend, thanks to the support of youngsters. The movie is likely to become a hit if it sustains the same momentum this week.

3. Papanasam

The screen count of Kamal Haasan's Papanasam came down considerably due to new releases. However, the movie still enjoyed good occupancy levels across the multiplexes.

Other Movies

Naalu Policeum Nalla Irundha Oorum received negative reviews from the critics, and the movie might turn out to be a disappointment at the box office. Indru Netru Naalai and Kaaka Muttai were screened across a couple of multiplexes in the city.

Upcoming week's releases

There is going to be a mad rush at the box office on July 31, as Vijay Sethupathi's Orange Mittai, Jayam Ravi's Sakalakalavallavan and Vikram Prabhu's Idhu Enna Maayam will be fighting for the limited screens available.
