Amara Kaaviyam Songs Review
Akilan Nagarajan - Reviewpuram

Talented music director Ghibran's quality of music elevates this relatively unknown movie's value tremendously. The ablum may need time to relish, but once it grows on you, the pounds and baroque interludes are bound to get better!

1.“Saridhaana Saridhaana” starts off as an energetic number, and slowly transcends the peppy feel into a freakish yet foot-tapping tune. Karky’s lyrics contribute a lot to the “rush”. Sets up the album perfectly.

2.“Edhedho Ennam vandhu” is that dreamlike track that hits you in the most subtle ways, yet manages to leave an impact with its simple treatment. This is pure, sublime stuff from Haricharan and Padmalatha who give their best during the chorus portions. The flute is pure magic, and is sure to lure one into the 1980s setting of the film.

3.“Mounam Pesum” reaches the height of elegant affairs in here. K.S. Chitra’s serene voice is a treat to say the least. Her expertise is evident with the way she expresses and blends into the tune. Mesmerizing on many levels!

4.“Dheva Dhevadhai” paces itself very well. The song reminds us of combination of Ilaiyaraja tune and Rahman's orchestration from the 90s. A notable track on the whole.

5.Thagam Theera” is that indulgent number from a typical Ghibran album. More of a fragile number strengthened by Asmin's lyrics.

Ghibran’s quintessential trump-card Sundar Narayanan Rao renders the solo version of “Edhedho Ennamvandhu” in his lurid, deep and high-pitched voice making this better than the duet version.

Ghibran's strength is he hasn't yet identified himself with a particular style of music so far. This album will make you anticipate more for Ghibran's upcoming “Ulaganayagan” offerings in Vishwaroopam-2 and Uttamavillain.
