Madhavan's long-awaited GD Naidu biopic GDN finally has a release date. The film hits theatres on July 17, with a new poster unveiled featuring Madhavan as the young industrial pioneer alongside Dushara Vijayan and Sathyaraj.
Written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramkumar of Oho Enthan Baby fame, GDN tells the story of GD Naidu, widely regarded as the Edison of India. A self-taught engineer and entrepreneur from Coimbatore, Naidu adapted imported technologies into affordable homegrown solutions, developing India's first indigenous electric motor and a wide range of products from fans and razors to petrol engines and ticket machines.

The cast also includes Jayaram, Priyamani, and Yogi Babu. GovindVasantha, known for 96 and Meiyazhagan, scores the music, with Aravind Kamalanathan handling cinematography and also serving as creative producer. The film is produced by Vijay Moolan and Varghese Moolan under their banner, alongside Madhavan and his wife Sarita through Tricolour Films, reuniting the same producing partnership behind Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
GDN releases in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
