Anirudh's Single, Harris' Kadhirvelan & AR Rahman's Highway
It has been an interesting mixed week for the top 3 talents in Tamil music world. Music fans got a quick glimpse of new upcoming songs released from Anirudh's first independent single, Harris' Idhu Kadhirvelan Kadhal and AR Rahman's Highway.
Anirudh's single shunned
Anirudh released his teaser for his new independent single "you can **** with me but aint nobody f** with my music". The teaser was filled f** and motherf*** words in the lyrics. The single received mostly indifferent reaction from fans as it failed to create any controversies for the provocative lyrics. The video got a significant number of thumbs down on YouTube. Will this full single song have more profanities? Anirudh need not worry about anybody f***ing with his music. Looks like he will take care of that himself.
Harris Jayaraj's "Melaey Melaey" ridiculed
Harris' teaser release of "melaey melaey" from "Idhu Kadhirvelan Kadhal" was released. The short teaser song sounded shockingly identical to AR Rahman's "Elay keechan" from Kadal. A few music fans had a field day as they the song came in for a lot of ridicule. The sources close to the matter claim that AR Rahman and Harris Jayaraj may have used the loop bits from the freely available synthesized instrument tracks. Whatever the reason could be, the damage is done. One can only wish this track could somehow go through some alterations before album release?
AR Rahman's Highway rocks the nation
AR Rahman's song "Maahi ve" from his upcoming Hindi movie "Highway" released last week. The 2 songs released so far have come for unanimous praise. Critics wrote "After 'Patakha Guddi' sent the entire nation rocking to the beats of HIGHWAY, music maestro A.R. Rahman takes the microphone himself for the next song Maahi Ve". AR Rahman's character of staying away from controversy has definitely helped him keep focused. Hope our budding musicians learn a few lessons from the master.
