The Canadian distributor York Cinemas has shared an update regarding the overseas release plans of Vijay’s upcoming film, directed by H. Vinoth. The film, which was originally scheduled for a January 9 release, was postponed due to the non-issuance of a censor certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
In a social media statement, the distributor confirmed that the movie will not release before April 30, while also requesting audiences with pending bookings to contact theatres for refunds if required.
The delay comes amid the ongoing censor process, after the CBFC referred the film to its revising committee following objections raised by a member of the original examining panel. The concerns reportedly related to religious sensitivities and the use of armed forces logos, leading to further review before certification.
