Silambarasan & Vijay Sethupathi Reunite for Vetrimaaran's 'Arasan'

A major new Tamil film, Arasan, brings Silambarasan TR and Vijay Sethupathi together again after CCV. Directed by Vetrimaaran with music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film began shooting on November 24, 2025.

Silambarasan TR is confirmed as the lead actor, while Vijay Sethupathi is expected to play an important role.. Samantha is in talks for the female lead.

Set in the world of ‘Vada Chennai’, the story unfolds in North Chennai with a gangster backdrop. Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, the film will release in Tamil and Telugu. A promo released on October 17, 2025, shows an intense tone, with Silambarasan appearing in two different looks.
