Arasan Promo to Release on October 16

The promo of Arasan will release on October 16, which is Anirudh Ravichander’s birthday, as reported by Vikatan. Silambarasan TR plays two roles — one as a 45-year-old man and another as a younger version, with both clean-shaven and bearded looks.

The promo is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and the main shoot will start after Diwali 2025 under Vetrimaaran, featuring real locations and grand sets. The film is set in the Vada Chennai universe but in a different timeline. Kichcha Sudeep is expected to play the villain, though not yet confirmed.

The story, originally written for Vada Chennai, has been reworked for STR. It’s a dark gangster drama set in 1990s North Chennai. The first look shows STR in a blood-stained look holding a sickle, giving a glimpse of intense action. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, and the film is expected to release in early 2026.
