I'm Proud to Join the List of A.R. Murugadoss Heroes- Sivakarthikeyan at Madharaasi Audio Launch

At the Madharaasi audio launch, Sivakarthikeyan struck the perfect balance between gratitude, humour, and powerful one-liners. From recalling his early days peeking at stars like Suriya and Murugadoss through a backstage hole, to proudly standing today as the hero of an AR Murugadoss directorial, his words reflected both humility and wit. With sharp punches on fandom, loyalty, and criticism, Sivakarthikeyan reminded everyone why his rise resonates so strongly with audiences.

Sivakarthikeyan Full Speech, at the audio launch:

  • First, a big thanks to the audience for making Amaran such a huge success.

  • I’m not sure if the students here attend classes regularly, but I’ve been attending Sairam College regularly for audio launches (laughs). At this rate, they may start a new course just for it.

  • Back in 2011, I was called to host the 7 Aum Arivu audio launch. Two days before, they replaced me with a hero, but I was asked to script the show. From backstage, I could only see Suriya sir, Shankar sir, Murugadoss sir, and Udhayanidhi sir through a tiny hole. That day, I wished I could show my talent and someday earn a role in Murugadoss sir’s film.

  • A few years later, I got the call for Maan Karate. Many mocked me, asking if I deserved a big film like that. Today, I’m standing here as the hero of Murugadoss sir’s directorial. This moment isn’t just about me—it’s about everyone who supported me in this journey.

  • Murugadoss sir has worked with Ajith, Vijayakanth, Suriya, Aamir Khan, Vijay, Akshay Kumar, Rajinikanth… and now me. I’m proud to be added to that list.

  • I’ve never done remakes in my career, but I’ve always been a fan of Murugadoss sir’s originals. I expected a script with the same impact, and just by the interval of his narration, I felt that powerful punch.

  • I’m a huge admirer of Biju Menon sir, especially after Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Watching him on sets taught me how to use my voice better.

  • For Madharaasi, I even worked with an acting trainer, Rajesh, since the character demanded a new approach.

  • This film is pure madness—whether in action or love. Rukmini Vasanth has delivered a phenomenal performance; her role is truly the soul of this movie.

  • Love has always been genuine—from the MSV era to today’s Anirudh era. Every man feels like a hero when the woman he loves accepts him. That’s timeless.

  • This is my 8th film with Anirudh. Our combination works because he elevates my songs to the classy audience, while I take his music deep into B & C centres. That balance is our strength.

  • While shooting in Thoothukudi, I once saw Vidyut Jammwal sir warming up. His arms looked like cricket bats! I prayed in the temple that morning asking God to make sure he doesn’t hit me for real during fights (smiles).

  • Everyone knows how big a fan I am of Thuppakki. Thirteen years ago, I tweeted just because I got a ticket for that film. Indha pakkam patha Thuppakki director, andha pakkam Thuppakki villain and innoru pakkam Vijay sir kudutha Thuppakki…

  • Many people keep calling that i think im the “next Thalapathy” or “Thideer Thalapathy.” Honestly, if I thought that way, Vijay sir would never gave the thuppakki to me, and I would never accept it either. Every star has his own unique space. You can’t take someone else’s audience. Vijay sir now leads in politics and his fans supports him loyally, Ajith sir doesn’t even want a fan club but still has unwavering support from hims fans, Kamal sir’s fans stay beyond wins and losses, and Rajini sir has ruled for 50 years. Suriya, Vikram, Dhanush, Simbu—all have loyal fans. I’m just grateful that my own little fan base is growing slowly.

  • Criticism is part of the game. Even after scoring centuries, Sachin was questioned. Even after winning 5 trophies for CSK, Dhoni was criticized. So who am I to complain? I take the positives and move forward.

  • If I like a film, I call the team and appreciate them. Some ask, “Who does he think he is to appreciate others?” But why should I overthink? Doing good doesn’t need justification.
