Leo: 5 Reasons to watch Vijay, Lokesh's film in theaters

Actor Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj have teamed up for the second time for a gangster action thriller titled Leo, and the movie is releasing tomorrow [October 19, 2023] in theaters worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages. Leo first day first show (FDFS) premieres at 4 AM IST and with just a few hours left to spare, here are 5 quick reasons to catch the movie on the big screen:

  • Vijay (Thalapathy to his fans) is a big reason to watch Leo in theaters this weekend. Not only is the actor's screen presence a treat for cine-goers, the star keeps getting fine with each passing movie making the whole theatrical experience something to look forward to.

  • Leo is backed by Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction and writing who has given blockbusters like Vikram (2022), Kaithi (2019) and Maanagaram (2017).  Leo is also said to be part of the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) franchise which gave action thrillers Kaithi and Vikram

  • Leo is the official adaptation of a graphic novel titled A History of Violence (1997) written by John Wagner and illustrated by Vince Locke. The book has already been made into a Hollywood movie of the same name in 2005. It comes with an interesting plot of a hero assuming dual identities of a cafe owner/family man and a dreaded gangster.

  • Leo is a multi-starrer. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is making his Tamil debut with this film, which also marks the long-awaited reunion of Vijay, Trisha onscreen. Directors Gautham Menon, Mysskin have also assumed acting roles in the movie, which though not new is still a first with Vijay.

  • Leo comes with top technicals like Anirudh Ravichander's music, Manoj Paramahansa's cinematography.
