Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 is the sequel to director Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 which released in theaters last year. Ponniyin Selvan 2 aka PS-2 is all set to release in theaters tomorrow i.e. April 28, 2023 and at this time the makers have unveiled a sneak peek video from the movie.

The Ponniyin Selvan story as penned by Kalki Krishamurthy is told through the view-point of Vandiyathevan, played by Karthi in the movies. His dynamic with Alwarkadiyan Nambi played by Jayaram in the movies, was quite the treat in Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 and Part 2 seemingly promises no different. The sneak peek scene reveals their interaction after Vandiyathevan is captured by the Pandyas during the tussle that ensued in last movie's climax, and Nambi comes in disguise to free him. 

Ponniyin Selvan 2 also stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Kishore (plays Ravidasan), Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others and has AR Rahman for music, Ravi Varman for cinematography. The movie is a production venture of Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
