Earlier this year we had reported that the digital rights of Mani Ratnam directed Ponniyin Selvan: I (PS1) has been bagged by Amazon Prime Video for Rs. 100 Cr+ in all languages. This deal includes the OTT rights to the movie's already shot sequel as well. Latest we hear the satellite rights of PS1 (just the prequel) has been bagged by Sun TV for Rs. 25 Cr, which is one of the bigger prices in the Tamil market. 

Many have expressed online that considering the scale and budget of Ponniyin Selvan,  this number does not come across as too grand. However it is worth mentioning that often times, the 'huge' numbers dished out for digital and satellite rights of films, are not always the eventual price they are picked up for.
