Back in May, 2022, buzz had it that Thalapathy 66 first look poster will be unveiled on June 21, 2022 and its second look poster a day later i.e. on Vijay's birthday on June 22, 2022. Sri Venkateswara Creations, producers of Thalapathy 66 have now officially announced that the first look of Thalapathy 66 will be released on June 21, 2022 (Tuesday) at 6:01 PM.

Rumoured to be titled Varasudu in Telugu and Vaarisu in Tamil, Thalapathy 66 is touted to be a family entertainer and is directed by Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally. SS Thaman has composed music for the movie which also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, and is slated for a Pongal release in January, 2023.
