Tatineni Rama Rao or T Rama Rao is a veteran filmmaker and producer who is better known to the younger Tamil generation as a producer of Lakshmi Productions, which has bankrolled films like Vijay starrer Youth (2002), Vikram starrer Dhill (2001), Arul (2004), Jayam Ravi starrer Unakkum Enakkum (2006) and Vishal starrer Malakottai (2007). T Rama Rao passes away in the early hours of April 20, 2022 (today) aged 84 at a hospital in Chennai.

During his prime, T. Rama Rao was known for directing remakes of popular movies in Hindi and Telugu. He has worked with many leading stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Jeetendra, Jayaprada, Sridevi, Rekha, Dharmendra, the late Amrish Puri, late NT Rama Rao and late Akkineni Nageswara Rao among others.
