It is a little known fact that Nalan Kumarasamy's directorial debut Soodhu Kavvum (2013) was actually written for Vadivelu and the director has often expressed how great it would have been, had the comedian agreed to do the role. Nalan Kumarasamy has also been vocal about his 'ultimate aim' which is to work with Vadivelu.

This interesting duo is finally showing signs of teaming up and Nalan Kumarasamy is currently in talks with Lyca Productions for a project starring the Vaigai Puyal. Vadivelu recently announced his comeback to movies after a gap of 4 years and will be doing his next five films with Lyca Productions.
