New movies that released directly on OTT platforms between July 19, 2021 and July 24, 2021 were quite in number and here is a quick read on how well each of them did this week.

• Sarpatta Parambarai (Tamil) - Amazon Prime Video: The movie has been receiving unanimous praise from all over for its solid screenplay and performances. Many also opine that director Pa. Ranjith is back with a bang and the film is easily one of Arya's career-best role. This boxing story set in 70s Madras is a must watch (Movie Review)

• Narappa (Telugu) - Amazon Prime Video: Sreekanth Addala has remade the Tamil movie Asuran starring  with Daggubati Venkatesh in the lead. However the story which is about caste-realities in the South is said to be a toned-down version of the original and is focused more on family-bonding. 

• Ikkat (Kannada) - Amazon Prime Video: The movie is a comedy about a couple on the verge of divorce, who have to stay together during lockdown and have three very unlikely guests visiting them. The movie has been received with mixed responses. 

• Anugraheethan Antony (Malayalam) - Amazon Prime Video: Another light-hearted release this week, the movie is both a fantasy and real-life drama. Starring Sunny Wayne, 96-fame Gouri Kishan and two dogs as pivotal characters, Anugraheethan Antony is about a happy-go-lucky person learning a life lesson. 

• Collar Bomb (Hindi) - Disney Plus Hotstar: A crime-thriller-drama, Collar Bomb follows Manoj Kumar Hesi (Jimmy Sheirgill)'s race against time to save a school children who have been taken hostage and a potential terrorist attack. The movie also stars Asha Negi and has opened to mostly positive response from all over.
