Kollywood Highlights from TN Election day 2021!

The sixteenth legislative assembly election of Tamil Nadu is currently taking place and voters from all over the state were seen flocking to elect the Members of the Legislative Assembly from 234 constituencies of the state. Also spotted during the early voting today were celebrities from Tamil film industry aka Kollywood are here are some highlights that the media captured:

1. Rajinikanth - Breach of Voting Privacy

Actor Rajinikanth arrived at the Stella Maris College at 7:10 AM (Official Voting Time is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) today and finished voting within minutes at his polling station since he was one of the very first people to arrive. While he was voting though, some over-enthusiastic media cameras almost breached his voting privacy defeating the purpose of an enclosed voting station, leaving many cringing on the internet.

2. Ajith - Phone Incident With Fan

Rules for April 6, 2021 voting day include mandatory masks and no mobile phones inside polling booths. When Ajith had arrived to caste his vote, a fan without a mask tried taking a selfie with the actor and Ajith snatched his phone away in a fit of anger.

The actor was later seen handing back the phone to the fan by telling him to wear a mask and apologizing.

3. Vijay - Political Statement

Actor Vijay made a political statement this time by cycling his way to cast his vote. The cycle, fans say is Vijay's stand against the petrol and diesel prices in our country and the parties responsible for them - the BJP-AIADMK alliance.

Fans have also been drawing parallels between this act of Vijay's and a reel portrayal from his most political movie - Sarkar, where he promotes 'oru viral puratchi' (Revolution from a single finger)

 4. Vikram - Voting Delay

Actor Chiyaan Vikram was among the Kollywood film celebrities who came out to vote as well but he was spotted waiting even after gloving up (hand gloves are provided to vote post identity verification).

Apparently a technical glitch (the polling officer presses a button in control the unit to turn on a green lamp in your voting compartment, which indicates that the unit is ready to record a new vote) caused a minor delay but Vikram was eventually able to cast his vote.
