Days ahead of its theatrical release on December 25, 2020, Warner Bros. Pictures have dropped the opening scene of Gal Gadot's upcoming superhero movie Wonder Woman 1984. A sequel to her previous film, Wonder Woman, WW84 is directed by Patty Jenkins and has music by Hans Zimmer.
The opening takes Diana (Gal Gadot) back to her childhood in Themyscira where she wilfully looks at participating in a sports event "that humbles the best of warrior women". Diana's aunt and General Antiope (played by Robin Wright), gives her a few words of advice as Connie Nielsen playing Queen Hippolyta and Diana's mother, watches from above.
There are also other video snippets from the movie circulating on the internet which were released as part of its promotional campaigns in several countries.
