A Tamil movie titled Corona Kumar was announced recently as a spin-off to director Gokul's 2013 hit film Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Ashwin Kakumanu. K. Sathish of Cinemawala Productions is bankrolling this film and taking about his movie, the producer said that Corona Kumar is the 'cousin of Sumar Moonji Kumar', the role played by Sethupathi in IAK. 

Sathish further confirmed that the script for Corona Kumar has come out as a full-fledged comedy and that it will revolve around what the lead character does in the COVID-19 situation. Despite being a comedy movie, Corona Kumar is said to come with an important message and the team will soon be making an announcement on its cast and crew.
