Malayalam super hit film Ayyappanum Koshiyum is being remade in Tamil and it is being produced by Five Star S. Kathiresan. While we had reported earlier that actors Sasikumar and Sarathkumar are likely to reprise the original roles of Prithviraj and Biju Menon, latest confirmation by the film-makers indicate that only Sasikumar is on board.

Recently there were reports that Arya has been approached to play a role in the movie but the actor has denied any such developments. Buzz is that the official cast and crew of the Tamil remake will be announced in June this year, given the COVID-19 lockdown has lifted by then. 

Ayyappanum Koshiyum follows the ego clash between a police officer named Ayyappan Nair (Biju Menon) and a retired havildar named Koshy Kurien (Prithviraj). The original was scripted and directed by Sachy and besides the Tamil remake, a Telugu version is also under progress.
